If you don't renew, your Zioan installation keeps running on your server with the features and version you had when the subscription ended. You won't receive new updates or priority support, but your data and workspace stay exactly where they are, on your server, under your control. You can resubscribe anytime to pick up updates and support again.

Zioan is developed and supported by Zioan Software Solutions in Germany. You install the software on your own server, so the company that makes it never holds your workspace data.

Self-hosted means your data never leaves your server. Host it in the EU and your conversations, documents, files, and call media stay under your control. No workspace data ever touches our servers.

Zioan includes built-in cookie consent, editable privacy policies, and audit trails. Personnel files log who opened which document and when, and you can set retention periods per document type. For teams that want managed infrastructure, we offer hosting in Germany.

Yes. Offboarding deactivates an account in one step and revokes access immediately. The person's files are archived as read-only and kept for the retention period you configure. You can place a legal hold, export all of their files, and erase them, with the erasure recorded in an audit trail. Shared spaces stay with the team.

Zioan runs on any Linux server or VPS with Docker installed. The automated install script handles the rest. If you run into trouble, email us and we'll either walk you through it or install it for you. We also offer managed hosting in Germany for teams that want GDPR-compliant infrastructure without managing their own servers.

Most teams are up and running in under an hour. The Docker install script handles dependencies automatically. After that, you create your first space, invite team members, and set up channels. Updates install from inside the app, without server access.

Documents can be imported from Markdown, PDF, DOCX, HTML, and URLs. For chat history and task data from other platforms, you'd need to recreate those manually or use the MCP integration to help with migration. We're working on dedicated import tools for popular platforms.

Zioan is a web application that works on any device with a browser. It's responsive and works on phones and tablets, including a full-screen chat view on mobile. There isn't a dedicated native mobile app right now.

Yes, since version 1.9. Employees record presence blocks and breaks, request leave, and see their balances. Managers approve requests, and HR configures schedules, absence types, public holidays by country and region, and working-time rules for daily maximums, breaks, and rest periods.

Monthly timesheets can be confirmed by the employee and countersigned by the employer, and you can export working-time records and payroll data as PDF or CSV.

Claude lives directly inside the Zioan chat. You bring your own Claude subscription, and it works as a private AI coworker with full context across your workspace: documents, tasks, CRM records, calendar, and conversations. Ask it to build a report, draft a document, find tasks related to a client, or summarize what happened on a project this week. It renders tables, charts, diagrams, and collapsible summaries right in the chat. It respects your team's permissions, so each person only gets answers based on what they can access.

Zioan also includes an MCP server with 170+ workspace tools. Connect Claude Code, Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, Gemini, OpenCode, or any other MCP-compatible CLI or assistant, and it can create documents, manage tasks, update the CRM, and schedule events on your behalf. It also has built-in help on every feature, so it can explain where things are and walk you through them step by step.

Yes. Zioan includes a built-in appointment system that works like Calendly but connects to your CRM and calendar. Create booking pages with custom questions, set your availability, and embed a scheduling widget on any website. When someone books a meeting, it creates a calendar event with a video call link, sends notifications, and logs the appointment in your CRM. Bookings respect leave and public holidays.

Yes. Upload your company logo for the navbar (light and dark versions), customize the login page, configure the dashboard layout, and edit the privacy policies and legal text. Your company details appear as the issuer on generated documents, and the guest portal shows your branding, not ours.

Guest portals let your clients log in, see their allowed resources, and chat with their assigned moderator. Auto-welcome messages, per-resource sharing, and fine-grained permissions mean each client only sees what you want them to see. Guest accounts are unlimited and included at no extra cost.
